“Web Archeology”

Since Epic shut down the Unreal Tournament forum, I have been having this feeling that the threads about my maps were long gone. I knew there is this web archive thing but I didn’t give much hope. But today, I took some time to see how much I can get back from the “web archeology”.

...

I managed to find most of the thread pages except for 2 of Deep Blue.

Tips

Note

It seems web.archive.org has a long tick between two responses. And when it is not responding, the browser fails to open anything. Just wait a while and try again. It will work.

And here is the useful links in case someone have similar needs:

https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/*

The 1st link allows you to search under “work-in-progress“ sub forum. The 2nd does the search in the scope of Unreal Tournament forums. The 3rd does that in the blogs. You get the idea. As long as you know the main address, you can hook that to “http://web.archive.org/web/*/ and add a * at the end of the whole line.

...

The above is a search under “forums“, then I used “deck“ to filter the result. But the thing is, it doesn’t guarantee to show you everything so I had to search under “work-in-progress“ for more results.
